New Seeds in Drawers and next Seed Packaging

There are new seeds in the drawers. Lots and lots of limited quantities of tomatoes, beans, peppers and even edamame! Check it out. The limited varieties are in very small plastic bags. The catalog has been updated with most of the new varieties, but I am still working on getting information for a few types of seeds.

I want to urge you to try something new this year. There is no longer a 4 packet limit so feel free to try something new. Even if you don't have experience saving seeds, but want to try one of the 'difficult to save' varieties please do! You don't need to save seeds from the difficult plants, just grow them and enjoy the fruits of your labor. You can save seeds from one of the 'easy to save' seed varieties or purchase a commercial open-pollinated variety to bring back to the seed library.

What more to say than the drawers are packed with seeds. Come and get 'em!

Specifically new tomato, beans, peas, peppers, and native plants are in the seed library.

In the next couple weeks we'll be adding a variety of veggies and flowers.

Don't forget to fill out a membership form when you take or return seeds. We need to show the Ramsey County Library people this is a useful and successful part of the library system.

Seed Packaging Tuesday Feb 21, 2017 from 4:00-7:30 pm at library

Our next seed packaging meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 21st, from 4-7:30pm at the White Bear Lake library.

We still have many seeds left to package! Come find out what varieties will be offered at the Seed Library this year. Fun, no experience necessary and chocolate is provided!

This is a drop in event, so come when you can and stay as long as you want.

Just a note about weather cancellations: If the weather makes driving difficult, I will cancel the event. I will send an email to those on the email list and the WBL library will be informed.

Just a note about weather cancellations: I checked a few weather sources and all point to a potential snow storm next Tuesday of 3-5". It is too early to tell yet, but I will keep you posted if we decide to cancel the meeting due to bad weather and/or difficult driving conditions.
